Ethernet Network is "unidentified" Cannot change.
Greetings all, I have a Windows 7 Pro notebook. It has a dock in the office. This machine is part of a Windows domain and has network drives mapped to it. A few days ago, the user undocked it without shutting down first, or logging off of the network. Since that time, his Ethernet connection is showing as "unidentified", with no access, and consequently, no network resources (drives, printers, etc). I have tried uninstalling the network adapter, and letting Windows detect it again, tried changing the Local Security policy to force the location type to Private, but get the same results. For whatever reason, System Restore will not work, it indicates that the restore points are either corrupt or missing. I need to get this issue resolved ASAP. Regards
